Uganda possesses rich deposits of non-metallic minerals, yet the processing industry has historically relied on basic extraction. The demand for refined bentonite powder has surged due to the expansion of local infrastructure projects and the need for advanced drilling fluids in the Albertine Graben region.
Environmental challenges, particularly in water purification and agricultural soil remediation, have created a critical need for high-grade zeolite pellets. Currently, many local industries face the challenge of inconsistent material purity, leading to suboptimal results in filtration and chemical catalysts.
Furthermore, the emerging cosmetics and paint industries in Kampala and Entebbe are increasingly seeking high-quality mica pigment powder to improve product luster and durability, signaling a shift from raw material export to high-value domestic processing.
