Qatar's industrial sector is heavily driven by petrochemicals and desalination. Due to the extreme arid climate and high salinity of the soil, there is a critical demand for high-purity activated carbon to manage water purification and gas scrubbing processes in harsh environmental conditions.
The construction boom in Doha and surrounding areas has increased the reliance on clay bentonite for drilling fluids and sealing liners, as the local limestone-heavy terrain requires specific rheological properties to maintain borehole stability during infrastructure expansion.
Furthermore, the shift towards sustainable industrialization in Qatar has led to a surge in the use of bentonite powder and other mineral additives to reduce waste and improve the efficiency of wastewater treatment plants across the peninsula.
