Cameroon possesses a diverse geological profile, but the utilization of specialized non-metallic minerals has historically been fragmented. The demand for high-purity bentonite powder has grown significantly due to the expansion of local drilling operations and civil engineering projects in the Douala and Yaoundé corridors.
Environmental challenges, particularly in water treatment for mining sites, have highlighted a critical need for efficient adsorbents. While local clays exist, the precision required for industrial-grade activated carbon is often unmet, leading to a reliance on high-quality imported materials to meet strict environmental discharge standards.
Furthermore, the emerging cosmetics and coatings industry in Cameroon is increasingly seeking mica pigment powder to add value to locally manufactured goods. This shift reflects a transition from raw ore export to value-added mineral processing within the regional economy.
